Start: 18 Jan 2010 9:45 pm

Destination Phenix!

That is, Phenix City, Alabama!

Actually, we'll be taking two different trips to Alabama this year!  The first will be the Habitat for Humanity trip to Pheonix City where we'll spend our days building three homes to provide affordable housing for families in need.

The second trip will be in Mobile where the ladies (sorry, guys: this one is for girls only) will work side-by-side with the Little Sisters of the Poor as they provide care for Jesus in the distressing disguise of the elderly-poor

Join us for the informational meeting on Monday, January 18th, after the 9pm Mass.

"All the good works in the world are not equal to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass because they are the works or men; but the Mass is the work of God. Martyrdom is nothing in comparison for it is but the sacrifice of man to God; but the Mass is the sacrifice of God for man." -St. John Vianney

Luke 2:22-40

When the days were completed for their purification
according to the law of Moses,
Mary and Joseph took Jesus up to Jerusalem
to present him to the Lord,
just as it is written in the law of the Lord,
Every male that opens the womb shall be consecrated to the Lord,
and to offer the sacrifice of
a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons,
in accordance with the dictate in the law of the Lord.

"Adoration will heal our Church and thus our nation and thus our world... Adoration touches everyone and everything... [because it touches the Creator, Who touches everything and everyone]... When we adore, we plug into infinite dynamism and power. Adoration is more powerful for construction than nuclear bombs are for destruction."- Peter Kreeft

"Holiness is not a luxury for the few; it is not just for some people. It is meant for you and for me and for all of us. It is a simple duty, because if we learn to love, we learn to be holy." --Mother Teresa

"We Wish to See Jesus!" -Jn. 12:21

24 Hours With the Lord
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth; we have beheld his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father...No one has ever seen God; the only Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he has made him known.  -John 1:14, 18

Sign-up for An Hour
Spend an hour "Son-bathing" in front of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.
What do I do for a whole hour? "Come away by yourselves...and rest awhile" -Mk. 6:31
When asked what he does when he goes to adore Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, St. John Vianney said that he looks at Jesus and Jesus looks at him.
The sign-up sheet is located in the parish lounge.

Why Go to Daily Mass?

Thursday February 04, 2010

"Are you Saved?"  Those are words we sometimes hear from some Christians.  How do we Catholics answer that question?  Are we saved?  What does salvation look like?  Is salvation something that comes at the end of my life or can I experience salvation even now?

Come to Corpus Christi and connect with other students who are asking the same questions you are.

Corpus Christi Catholic Fellowship is an energetic evening aimed at exploring the faith.  Through speakers, a little praise music, skits, games, and meals we come together to encounter the Lord with other Catholic students on campus.  Come join Corpus Christi here every Thursday night at 7pm, with Mass at 8:45 pm and dinner following at 9:30 pm at Linda's house.
